If you’ve been doing the Christian online dating thing long enough, you’ve got stories to tell. Lots of stories. Between the questions your family and friends ask, the profiles you come across, the communications you receive from matches, or the dates you actually go on, some of us should start journaling so we don’t forget them all. Who knows, you could make your money back buy writing a book about it…
But then there are times when there just aren’t enough words in the English language to be able to accurately detail your experience. Thank goodness for the Internets and the gift of GIFs. Maybe you can relate to some of these?
1. When your family gives you an online dating subscription for your birthday and tells you they’re praying you find a Proverbs 31 wife:
2. When you get matched with someone in your singles ministry:
3. When the first communication a guy makes is to tell you how hot you are:
4. When you decide to take a selfie in the mirror to use as a profile pic:
5. When she sees your mirror selfie in your profile:
6. When one of his profile pics is of him on a mission trip with his church:
7. When she winks at you but her profile says she owns 6 cats and is looking for her Boaz:
8. When you’re just emailing back and forth with a match and she mentions you meeting her parents:
9. When he tells you he needs to pray about taking you on a date:
10. When you tell your family you’re going on a date:
God bless them. They don’t even realize this is just the beginning. But if it leads to marriage, the stories are all worth it, right?
